We also collect information you provide when writing reviews, creating posts, or interacting with the community. Usage data such as pages visited, features used, and device information is collected automatically to improve our services.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide and improve DormMe's services, including personalised dorm recommendations, community features, and AI-powered chat assistance. Your university affiliation helps us tailor search results and recommendations to dorms near your campus. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
3. Third-Party Services
DormMe uses the following third-party services to operate: Supabase for authentication and data storage, Google Gemini for AI chat recommendations, and Resend for transactional emails. Each of these services has their own privacy policies governing how they handle data. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies.
4. Cookies
We use essential cookies to maintain your login session and remember your preferences. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Session cookies are managed through Supabase authentication and are necessary for the platform to function correctly.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can update your profile information through your account settings or contact us to request data deletion. Upon account deletion, your personal information will be removed, though anonymised content contributions (reviews, posts) may remain.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.
